Delta Cargo launches redesigned website

November 1, 2017 – Today, Delta Cargo launches the totally re-designed website, deltacargo.com, providing customers with a one-stop shop for all their cargo needs and making the shipping process easier than ever before. Customers can now book, check-in, manage and track their shipments entirely online, via a computer or mobile device, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus customers can submit electronic air waybills for free on the website which eliminates air waybill preparation fees and significantly improves the speed of the customer experience.

“This new website provides complete end-to-end digital booking, acceptance and tracking, 24/7, on laptops and mobile devices anywhere in the globe,” said Shawn Cole, Delta’s Vice President – Cargo. “The improved functionality comes as a direct result of customer feedback and is a real game changer for Delta Cargo.”

​LONDON and ATLANTA – Joint venture partners Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Delta Cargo are introducing a new Pharma Zone at their joint facility at London Heathrow. The new Pharma Zone will support the growing volumes of temperature-controlled healthcare and life science products being carried by both airlines and enhances their ability to meet the strict quality and service requirements of pharmaceutical companies and their freight forwarding partners.

Opening today at their Cargo Point facility, the Pharma Zone is a fully segregated area dedicated to handling and storing pharmaceutical shipments within a strictly regulated temperature environment with dedicated active container storage.

In response, Delta Air Lines, its Cargo division, the Delta Foundation and the company’s employees have mobilized like never before: partnering with the American Red Cross and other experienced non-profits, contributing $3.75 million, operating relief flights filled with thousands of pounds of water, generators, baby food and other supplies; and adding dozens of flights to evacuate tens of thousands of people to safety.

Vishal Bhatnagar named Director of Delta’s Cargo Control Center

Atlanta, August 22, 2017: Delta Cargo has appointed Vishal Bhatnagar to the new role of Director of the Cargo Control Center (CCC). In this role, Vishal will ensure central control and delivery performance of all freight and mail destined worldwide, from booking, to tendering, to build-up, to plane-side, to loading, to unloading and to customer pick-up. In addition to the CCC he will also be responsible to manage Worldwide Trucking, Global Logistics and Trade Compliance and all Cargo Customer Service Centers. He will report to Julian Soell, Managing Director Cargo Customer Experience and Operations.

“Vishal comes into this newly-created role with 23 years of experience in the cargo industry, having started as a cargo agent and progressed right through to lead the North and South America operations team for Lufthansa,” said Shawn Cole, Vice President ̶ Delta Cargo. “He joins Delta Cargo at an exciting time, with our strong focus on operational reliability and improving the
customer experience, he really will be a valuable asset to the success of Delta Cargo and the new Cargo Control Center.”

Vishal, a native of New Delhi, India, received his bachelors in Economics and Mathematics from Delhi University and his M.B.A. from European School of Management and Technology, Germany.

Delta Cargo Approved To Carry Envirotainer RAP E2

Atlanta, August 11, 2017.- Following the award of IATA’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) Pharma logistics Certification in July, Delta Cargo is pleased to announce its approval for the carriage of the Envirotainer RAP e2 in its mainline aircraft effective immediately. This container is ideal for shipments requiring strict temperature control between +0°C and +20°C.

The approval of the Envirotainer RAP e2 enhances Delta’s Pharma product offering, which is available in Pharma 1 locations around the world. The active container expands flight options beyond those using the Envirotainer RAP t2, as it does not require dry ice as a coolant. It also provides significantly more capacity for goods than the Envirotainer RKN e1.
