Commerce Further Delays License Requirement for Aluminum Imports

On March 29, 2021, in a notice, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the delay in the effective date for the requirement of a license from the Aluminum Import Monitoring and Analysis System (AIM) on certain imports of aluminum.

The provision was initially effective January 25, 2021, before being delayed until March 29, 2021. The new effective date is June 28, 2021. The delay is in response to public comments received after the January effective date delay. A Federal Register Notice is forthcoming.
