C.H. Robinson to Acquire Prime Distribution Services

Prime had $108.7 million in total revenues for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2019. C.H. Robinson intends to purchase Prime for approximately $225 million in cash. The acquisition is expected to be slightly accretive in 2020 and will be financed through cash on hand and funds drawn from C.H. Robinson’s existing credit facilities.

Prime Distribution Services provides a comprehensive suite of retail consolidation solutions, including distribution, fulfillment and inventory management, and currently operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Roadrunner Transportation. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Plainfield, Indiana, Prime employs approximately 270 people and has five fulfillment and distribution facilities totaling approximately 2.6 million square feet across the United States. Prime currently serves approximately 140 customers.

AAA Cooper Transportation recognized as one of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers

In 2019, AAA Cooper Transportation was selected by Forbes as one of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers. Forbes teamed up with Statista and surveyed 30,000 people working for companies with 1,000 plus employees. They were asked to rate how likely they would be to recommend their employer to others, then they were asked to nominate organizations outside of their own industry. The final list ranks the 500 mid-size employers that received the most recommendations.

Averitt Releases 2020 “State Of The North American Supply Chain” Survey Results

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Averitt Express has released the results from its fifth annual State of The North American Supply Chain Survey. More than 1,800 shippers from a wide variety of industries throughout North America participated in the survey, which was conducted in late 2019.

The survey consisted of a series of questions aimed at gauging the supply chain challenges that shippers experienced in 2019. They were also asked questions to measure the use of and interest in various supply chain services in comparison to data taken from the previous years’ surveys.

Blue Dart Express Limited, South Asia’s premier express air and integrated transportation, distribution and logistics Company, today declared its financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2019, at its Board Meeting held in Mumbai.

Revenue from operations for the quarter ended December 31, 2019 stood at ₹855.64 crores. The company posted ₹24.34 crores profit before tax & exceptional item for the quarter ended December 31, 2019. Net loss for the quarter stood at ₹33.08 crores after accounting for ₹64.11 crores of exceptional items.

The Company had undertaken restructuring/right-sizing exercise during the current quarter with an intention to improve efficiency and create long term value for stakeholders. This has impacted the profitability for the quarter ended December 31, 2019.

Averitt Opens Distribution Center in Atlanta to Serve Southeast Transportation Hub

Averitt Express has opened a new distribution and fulfillment center in Atlanta, GA. Located just minutes from downtown and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the facility encompasses nearly 140,000 square feet of enclosed space to receive, manage, and distribute freight and inventory.

“We are excited to increase our presence in this vital freight market to better serve the growing needs of our customers,” says Wayne Spain, Averitt’s president and chief operating officer. “Whether it’s moving cargo to or from the Port of Savannah or managing inventory for order fulfillment, this new facility will expand our ability to assist our customers at every turn in their supply chain.”

The opening of Averitt’s new facility adds to the number of locations the company currently operates in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Two other locations are service centers that are part of Averitt’s less-than-truckload and truckload distribution networks.
