CBP Announces FSIS Pilot to Conclude

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on September 9, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that the test pilot for Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will conclude on October 11, 2016.

CBP and FSIS have ascertained, “that ACE is fully capable of accepting electronic entries transmitted to ACE with the PGA Message Set data required for FSIS-regulated meat, poultry, and egg products.” FSIS is able to more efficiently track and control shipments by receiving the data prior to the goods arriving for inspection.
