C.H. Robinson, a global leader in third party logistics (3PL), is hosting Robinson Cares events, a community giving campaign, at its corporate headquarters and locations throughout North America. The goal is to raise $450,000 from its employees for local, national, and global charities.

Robinson,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “With the expansion of Robinson Cares to cities across North America, our employees are excited about the even bigger impact they will have on our communities and neighbors.”

Over the last 17 years, C.H. Robinson’s corporate headquarters has hosted Robinson Cares Week the third week of September, raising over $2.6 million for local and national charities. To make a bigger impact, offices throughout North America are participating in this initiative.

White House Restores Myanmar as GSP Beneficiary

On September 14, 2016 the White House issued a Presidential Proclamation to Congress that will restore Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) trade benefits to Burma.

In April 1989, Burma was suspended from receiving GSP preferential treatment by Proclamation 5955. President Obama has now determined that the suspension will be lifted and Burma be designated a least-developed beneficiary developing country.

Toll renews partnership with East Timor Hearts Fund to help save lives

Toll and East Timor Hearts Fund are delighted to announce an extension of their life-saving partnership.

Under the partnership, Toll will provide air travel from East Timor to Australia for around ten people requiring life-saving surgery, in addition to their parents, health support workers and interpreters, over the next year.

Toll Remote Logistics’ General Manager Mark Delany said he was proud of Toll’s continued support of East Timor Hearts Fund.

“Toll is proud to give back to the local communities in which we live and work. Toll’s partnership with East Timor Hearts Fund has helped the organisation to save more than 30 lives since it began in 2010,” Mr Delany said.

“I’m proud to continue our support for an organisation that is making a real difference to the health and lives of our neighbours in Timor-Leste.”

East Timor Hearts Fund CEO Ken Dusting said the partnership was critical to the organsiation’s work in providing life -saving heart surgery in Australia for young people from Timor-Leste.

On Monday, September 26th, Roadrunner Transportation will implement a general rate increase of 4.9%, including minimum charge shipments, to all points in the contiguous United States and Canada for customers utilizing the RDFS 501 U.S. and 700 Canadian rate bases.
