CBP Clarifies DIS Rejections

On May 4, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #16-000364 providing clarification on how Document Imaging System (DIS) rejections should be handled for Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Cargo Release/Entry Summaries.

CBP has the ability to reject documents that have been submitted, if it has been determined that the document is insufficient. According to the notice, “If a document is rejected in DIS, the filer will receive a message in the same manner the document was originally submitted (EDI or email) containing the reject notice and reason for rejection.”
