New Brighton, MN, January 18, 2016 — James Morse, Vice President of Pricing for LME, issued the following open letter to LME customers announcing rate increases to be effective February 1, 2016.
Dear Valued Customer:
First, thank you for your business and choosing LME as your transportation provider. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your customers.
Due to increased costs, LME will be taking a general rate increase. Costs continue to rise in the areas of technology, insurance, equipment and in working to hire qualified drivers. LME continues to re-invest in these very important areas of our business so we may offer the quality service you have come to expect.
LME will take a general rate increase of 4.5% effective February 1, 2016. We will accomplish this by decreasing the discount and increasing our minimum charges and commodity rates rather than increase the LME base rate.
