C.H. ROBINSON EXPANDS GLOBAL NETWORK, ACQUIRES APC LOGISTICS

Minneapolis, Minnesota(August 31, 2016) — C.H. Robinson continues to grow its global presence and today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire APC Logistics, a leading provider of freight forwarding and customs brokerage services in Australia and New Zealand. The two companies have had a long-standing exclusive agent relationship for business in Australia and New Zealand. The agreement is subject to certain customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.

“This acquisition allows us to add great talent to our Global Forwarding team and advances the strategy to expand our global network,” said John Wiehoff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of C.H. Robinson. “We will work hard to successfully integrate the valued employees, customers and suppliers of APC.”

APC Logistics is a privately held international freight forwarder, providing ocean, air, customs brokerage and consultancy services, currently serving over 3,000 customers and suppliers. Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, APC Logistics employs approximately 300 people and has seven offices in Australia and two offices in New Zealand. APC had $334.2 million AUD (approximately $251 million USD) in total revenues for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016. C.H. Robinson intends to purchase APC Logistics for approximately $300 million AUD (approximately $225 million USD) in cash. The acquisition is expected to be accretive in 2016 and 2017 and will be financed through cash and funds drawn from C.H. Robinson’s existing revolving credit facility.

Averitt Associates Contribute $25,000 to American Red Cross Flood Relief Efforts

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (August 30, 2016) — In the wake of recent flood disaster in Louisiana, the associates of Averitt Express recently made a $25,000 donation to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund.

The Red Cross is currently using the funds to provide food and shelter to thousands who have been affected by the floods, many of whom have lost their homes and possessions due to the weather-related disasters.

According to Averitt officials, the donation was made from funds collected through the company’s associate-giving organization, known as Averitt Cares for Kids. Averitt Cares for Kids is funded 100% by voluntary contributions from the company’s associates.

XPO has recognized Charles Robinson of Albia, Iowa, and  Pat Squier of Des Moines, Iowa, for three million safe driving miles; and Bryan Crosswhite of Findlay, Ohio, Charles Howell of Clay City, Ky., Donald Jackson of Queen City, Mo., Phillip Oaks of Jackson, Ky., and Mark Orr of Reelsville, Ind., for two million safe driving miles.

C.H. ROBINSON AND WESTERN GROWERS CELEBRATE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM

Minneapolis, MN (August 25, 2016) — Ten years ago,
C.H. Robinson and Western Growers formed the Western Growers Transportation Program to provide supply chain solutions for fresh produce growers in North America. To celebrate the anniversary of this program, C.H. Robinson and Western Growers hosted a Giving Day on August 24, 2016, across the country, using C.H. Robinson’s Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, hub as a collection and distribution center.

In keeping with the produce focus of the program, the food drive event encouraged growers to donate to Feeding America—either through product or monetary donations. At the end of the day, participating growers and associations donated more than 240,000 pounds of produce, along with monetary donations, equating to over 250,000 meals. C.H. Robinson donated the transportation needed for the event. The donations went to Feeding America locations across the country. Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization, providing food to 46 million low-income Americans every year.

“Over the past 10 years, C.H. Robinson has worked with many grower-shippers through the Western Growers Transportation Program and has helped them improve their supply chains,” said Luke Gowdy, general manager at C.H. Robinson. “We are energized by the 10-year celebration, the participation of growers in Giving Day, and the future of the program.”

Southeastern Freight Lines’ Valdosta Service Center Celebrates 35 Years of Service

Four original employees celebrate 35 years with company

LEXINGTON, S.C. (August 24, 2016) Southeastern Freight Lines, the leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, is celebrating 35 years of quality without question service from its Valdosta, Georgia service center this August.

Located at 2126 West Hill Avenue, the Valdosta service center originally opened for business in August of 1981 and currently features 68 dock doors and employs 75 associates.

The facility is also celebrating the anniversaries of four original team members: Craig Moore, Assistant Service Manager, David Morris, Line Haul driver, and Brett Vincent, P&D driver. All three employees have been with the Valdosta service center since its opening in 1981 and are celebrating 35 years with the company.

“Thirty-five years ago, the Valdosta service center opened its doors and brought a new culture of trucking to the region,” said Algie Grubbs, regional vice president of operations, Southeastern Freight Lines. “Since opening, the Valdosta service center has experienced tremendous growth, increasing from its original eight employees and nine dock doors, and we could not be more proud to recognize their growth.”

The Valdosta service center was the 13th service center opened by Southeastern Freight Lines since its founding in 1950. Since then, the company operates 88 service centers spanning 14 states, Canada and Puerto Rico and has undergone numerous upgrades in trucks and trucking technologies.

FORT SMITH, Arkansas, August 19, 2016 — ABF Freight®, an ArcBestsm company (Nasdaq: ARCB), congratulates A.J. Kelly, an ABF Freight road driver from Cheyenne, Wyoming, for earning second place in the Twins class at the National Truck Driving Championships, held August 10-13, 2016, in Indianapolis.

To earn the right to compete in the national competition, drivers must win first place in their class during state competitions. The drivers also must maintain an accident-free driving record for the preceding 12 months.

“A.J. not only earned the right to compete in the nationals by winning first place in the Wyoming Twins class, he scored the highest on Wyoming’s written examination,” said ABF Freight President Tim Thorne. “His record with ABF Freight includes driving 16 years and 2 million miles with no accidents. A.J. is a true professional.”

Kelly has been driving professionally for 37 years. He is a two-time winner of the Wyoming Trucking Association’s Larry E. Meredith Award, which honors a driver’s professionalism. He has earned numerous awards at the state level, including two-time Grand Champion, five Team Trophies, Highest Written Score, Best Personal Interview, Rookie of the Year and the Kim Fife Award. Since he joined ABF Freight in 2000, Kelly has earned a Two Million Mile Award, a 16-year Safe Driving Certificate and a 15-year Safety Performance Award. He and his wife, Susie, have five children.
