The following is the list of outstanding workers who were recognized from the Shevell Group of Companies.

Ronald Sedlak in our cargo claims department has been honored as the 2016 winner of the Arlene Shevell Award. This award is given annually to the worker who exemplifies the highest level of dedication and contribution within the Shevell Group. Ron has been a loyal member of the team since December of 2000.

The 2016 winner of the Mark Jensen Award is Frank Sessa from our Information Technology team. This award is presented annually to the worker who demonstrates administrative and management excellence. Frank will celebrate 17 years with the company this month.

NEMF’s New Pittsburgh Driving School Graduates Its First Class

We are pleased to announce the opening of an additional driver training school at our NEMF terminal in Pittsburgh, PA. The first class of eight graduates completed their training in early July. NEMF’s program consists of ten weeks of training broken down as follows / eight weeks of combined classroom and hands on instruction / during this time the driver trainee is guided by one of our professional Regional Driver / Safety Trainers. During week eight, the driver trainees will test and receive their Commercial Driver’s License. Once they receive their CDL, the driver trainee will be put out in the field for “On The Job” training with a senior NEMF driver/mentor for two additional weeks.

Lisa most recently worked for ABF Freight as a Senior Account Executive for 7 years. Prior to that Lisa worked as a Corporate Account Executive at Roadway/YRC for 20 years where she was in the Vice President’s Club for 3 consecutive years and Carolina Freight in Inside Sales for 3 years.

Lisa received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Nassau Community College and is currently working on her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business at SUNY Empire State.

Lisa resides in Islep Terrace Long Island, NY with her two sons, Brandon (14) and Ryan (10.)

Jay most recently worked for New Penn as an Account Executive for almost 3 years. Prior to that Jay worked as an Account Executive in the trucking industry for 7 years and was top producer in sales for 6 of those years.

Jay received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College. He resides in Elmsford, NY with his wife Jina and their two children- Jesery (14) and Jaylinn (4.) In his spare time Jay enjoys working out, playing basketball and baseball and spending quality time with his family.

NEMF Begins Full-State Coverage To and From West Virginia

On May 31st, NEMF further expanded its terminal network by opening a new facility at 500 River East Drive in Belle, West Virginia. The company will provide full state coverage by utilizing its new Charleston terminal as well as its Roanoke, VA; Hagerstown, MD; Pittsburgh, PA and Columbus, OH terminals.

According to Ed Generous, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, “The West Virginia market has been under-served and the company has had a great deal of interest from customers in providing direct service to the State. We think now is the right time to take advantage of this opportunity.”
