August 29, 2017 – Nippon Express (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. (Hiroshi Nojiri, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), will open an office in Myawaddy Township, Kayin State on Friday, September 1.
Myawaddy is located on the Thai border and along the route of the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. Cross-border truck transport between Myanmar and Thailand is expected to rise in future, and this will make Myawaddy, which accounts for the majority of border trade between the two countries, all the more important.
By carrying out its own operations in this locale, Nippon Express will be better able to manage transport schedules and garner know-how on the country’s customs clearance system. The new Myawaddy Office will be Nippon Express’ third business location in Myanmar.
