Nippon Express to begin business in Kenya from August 1

— Kenya Branch to be its first business location in Africa —
Nippon Express Europe GmbH (Shigeru Umino, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Mitsuru Saito, President), has established Nippon Express’ first business location in Africa – Kenya Branch – in Nairobi, the capital city of the Republic of Kenya, and will begin operations at this new facility on Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
The 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) was held in Nairobi in August 2016, the first TICAD ever held in Africa. At this event, the Japanese government announced its intention to make available a total of 30 billion yen in both public and private investment over the three-year period 2016-2018, prompting a growing number of Japanese companies to set up operations in Africa.
