COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 19, 2013) – Randy Martin, who celebrated his 28th year with Averitt Express in March, has been named regional sales director for the transportation and supply chain solutions provider.
“We’re excited about bringing Randy into this expanded role with our sales team,” said Phil Pierce, Averitt’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “He’s an outstanding associate who has earned this move, and we know he’ll do an excellent job for us and our customers.”
Martin replaces the retired Charlie Webster and takes over the sales area that includes all of Tennessee. Averitt operates service centers in Chattanooga, Cookeville, Fayetteville, Jackson Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville and the Tri-Cities.
In his new role, Martin will work closely with Averitt’s corporate and local sales teams, as well as operations leadership, to develop win-win transportation solutions for its customers.
“Charlie leaves behind a pretty substantial legacy that he built over 20 years with Averitt,” said Martin. “I’m honored to follow in his footsteps and look forward to continuing to further the relationships he built while forging new ones.”
